Growing up within walking distance to the ocean and forests of Central California, Jimmy learned the value of environmental stewardship early on. As an entrepreneur, author and strategist, he uses energy as an indicator of corporate governance and strategy responsibly manage consumption of natural resources.

Currently, he sits on the board for the Center for Sustainable Energy, chairing the Strategy Committee, is a Visiting Scholar at George Washington University and an advisor to the Energy Consumer Market Alignment Project. His book on the topic, Driven by Demand: How Energy Gets its Power has been sold in over 15 countries.

As Chair Emeritus of the MIT Enterprise Forum Northwest, he led an all-volunteer organization for 4-years to produce a dozen events in technology innovation and entrepreneurship every year. These programs include the Future of Fun, Science Fiction Meets Technology, Meet the Angels and others that support the innovation economy. 

He received his BS and MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Oxford. He holds five patents, authored numerous publications, and is a frequent speaker on topics of energy futurism and leadership.
